"Vets Helping Vets - Building Partnerships for Success!"
The Congress recently passed a bill that provides new training opportunities for unemployed veterans - the VOW to Hire Heroes Act of 2011. The President signed the bill quickly and the details of the program have now been issued.
The program will begin on July 1 and benefits will be for 12 months to retrain unemployed veterans from 35 - 60 years of age. The program will be limited to 45,000 participants from July 1, 2012 through March 31, 2014.
There are eligibility requirements and veterans must enroll on-line. To see the details of the program, please use the link: http://www.gibill.va.gov/
This is an important opportunity for unemployed veterans to be able to receive a stipend while they are involved in a retraining program and be able to survive when unemployment benefits dry up and to better position them for future employment by obtaining new skills.
Please pass this information on to those folks in your own circle of influence and help support unemployed veterans.
