Message from the Auxiliary President:

If you are a grandmother, mother, wife, granddaughter, daughter, sister or niece of any veteran who is deceased or belongs to an American Legion, you are eligible to become a member of the Auxiliary.

Auxiliary members are women of all ages and all walks of life who join together in the fellowship of giving. Some of our goals are to:

  • Contribute to the community and partake in it's functions; such as the Christmas Parade, and serving

  • Thanksgiving dinner for those who are alone or homeless;

  • Provide funds for educational assistance;

  • Send toiletries, magazines and snack items to our troops abroad;

  • Distribute poppies that are made by veterans to increase awareness of their needs;

  • Assist in funeral receptions;

  • Arrange and distribute food baskets for people who are ill or shut in;

  • Visit hospitalized veterans or members;

  • Donate and serve meals on Memorial Day and Veterans Day to any veteran.

 At Post 598 we are a small group contributing to a national and world project to serve our armed forces, veterans and communities.

Our main source of income is the sales of our cookbooks, but we do many other projects to raise money to support the above activities.  In completing these tasks the Auxiliary works together with the Legionnaires and the Sons of Legionnaires.

Want to become a member and contribute? Stop in anytime or come to an Auxiliary meeting any first Wednesday at 5:30 pm at the Post.
